It took 394 days and $12,500 for Morgan Carlton to prove that she didn't harm her newborn daughter. Her story has a happy ending, but her case powerfully illustrates the danger of allowing state-contracted child abuse pediatricians to push forward allegations that are not supported by science and common sense.


Morgan is quoted in the article saying, "I would never put a dollar sign to what I would ever do to take care of [my children], ever in a million years, but when you're spending that kind of money just running and running and running to prove that you did not do something, I feel absolutely they should give me that back."
